End of the Road

It never happened that way now
He answered softly, show me how
Creations are divine
But, catch me if I fall
If I’m in too deep
Please somebody catch me
After all, it’s only me

Ah, then I never passed this way
And though I never know for sure
I now know how
You took a little piece of me
And now you squeeze it in between
And push me out
But if it’s fear you feel inside
And you can’t hide between those eyes
It’s your fight

It never happened I exclaimed
But I found a nightclub at the end of the road
I’d never been that way before
Take a step or two, down the hallway there
Everybody’s dancing and feeling drunk
And having a swell time

But when you pulled me to the side
I didn’t even know his name
You threw me off
It took another piece of me
And now you put it in between
And push me out
But if your anger overrides
And you can’t read between the lines
It’s your fault
You wouldn’t be there
I found another way
I found another way
I found another way
To let you go
Let you know
Oh because you never pass this way
And though I never anticipate you leaving now
You put your puzzle now together
With your pieces of me, show me how
You dare ask a single question
When I asked to go on inside
